The Future of Manufacturing Is Already Here
Frank Palubiak, Account Executive, and Tyler Springer of Guide Technologies led the Lunch and Learn session titled The Future of Manufacturing. Their message was direct and energizing: the shifts manufacturers have been anticipating — from artificial intelligence to Industry 5.0 — are no longer on the horizon. They have arrived, and they are accelerating faster than many expected.
Whether a manufacturer is just beginning to explore AI or actively evaluating an ERP system, the key message was the same: success depends on having a clear strategy and being prepared before taking action. An Inside Look at Labconco
Following the Lunch and Learn, attendees heard from Eric Herrs, Vice President of Manufacturing at Labconco, who offered a candid look at the company’s century of growth, diverse product lines, and the operational philosophies that have shaped one of Kansas City’s most enduring manufacturers.
A guided facility tour brought the conversation to life, giving attendees a behind-the-scenes view of metal fabrication, additive manufacturing, paint, and testing operations — with meaningful conversation at every stop.
Giving Back: Packing Backpacks for Foster Youth
The absolute highlight of the day was a community impact activity led by Care Package Inbound, a nonprofit that provides emergency backpacks for children entering foster care. Every attendee participated in packing backpacks filled with clothing, hygiene items, and comfort essentials for foster youth across the Kansas City area.
It was a powerful reminder that the best industry gatherings don’t just connect companies — they connect people to something larger.
